The maxhire story

about us

Our fledgling company started from a unit on the Airport Industrial Estate Newcastle in 1986. It was not long before companies like Makita saw the potential and allowed Max to take on an agency. Within a short space of time, other agencies like Honda, Victa, and Mountfield were acquired. Due to the high demand for servicing and repairs specialist sharpening equipment was leased and the company started to expand rapidly.

In 1990 Mini Excavators and dumpers were being imported into the UK and an opportunity arose for Maxhire to hire this equipment to local authorities, builders, and homeowners. This lead to an increase in business and enabled the company to relocate.

Maxhire has grown into a successful local business with an experienced and dedicated team who can provide a first-class service to local businesses and domestic users.
